Gia Girman to serve suspension after actions in brawl against UMass
Senior forward Gia Girman will serve a three-match suspension for her actions during an altercation in the Rutgers women's soccer team's 1-0 loss to UMass last Sunday. The incident occurred about 10 minutes into the second half after Girman committed a foul. Following the challenge, Ashley Lamond approached Girman and tried to pick her up to get the ball, leading to multiple punches from the players. As a result, both Girman and Lamond were sent off with red cards.

Asbury Park Opens Cooling Center Amid Excessive Heat Warning
ASBURY PARK, NJ — In response to the forecasted excessive heat, the City of Asbury Park has announced the opening of a cooling center on Wednesday, August 28. The center will be located at the Senior Center, 1201 Springwood Avenue, 2nd Floor, and will be open from 9 AM to 6 PM to provide relief to residents. For any questions regarding the cooling center, residents can contact the City of Asbury Park Social Services at 732-502-4528. After Stellar Postseason Run in His Sophomore Season, McCarroll Primed to Star this Fall for PU Men’s Water Polo
LOGAN’S RUN: Logan McCarroll gets ready to unload the ball in action last fall in his sophomore season for the Princeton University men’s water polo team. McCarroll scored 28 goals with seven assists in 2023 to help Princeton go 28-6 and make the program’s first-ever appearance in the NCAA semis since the tournament was expanded in 2015.
