One dead in helicopter crash in Jefferson County
A man is dead after the helicopter he was operating crashed in the village of West Carthage in Jefferson County, according to New York State Police. Troopers said that the crash happened near 64 Liberty Street in the village around 11:16 a.m. The helicopter operator was taken to the Carthage Area Hospital with serious injuries, where he was later pronounced dead.
