BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) — A federal court hearing was halted on Thursday, July 25, after the accused had a medical emergency while entering a guilty plea. Jonathan Lanaute is accused of a May 3 bank robbery, followed by a chase in a stolen vehicle. He announced a plan to plead guilty in a July 15 notice to the court.

Battle over huge new Deer Run subdivision ends with Livingston Parish settling lawsuit
Days before a federal lawsuit was set to go to trial, Livingston Parish has reached a settlement concerning a large new subdivision in the Denham Springs area. Friday’s judgment, signed by Judge Shelly Dick in the U.S. Middle District Court of Louisiana, allows the Deer Run subdivision to move forward and prevents the parish government from enforcing any present or future ordinances that attempt to “retroactively nullify or impair the development approvals and permits previously obtained.”
