Borscht Belt Festival Returns to Ellenville
The second annual Borscht Belt Fest, featuring comedy, food, music and storytelling, starts July 26 and runs through the weekend in Ellenville. The Long Island Junior Soccer League (LIJSL), the largest league in the Eastern New York Youth Soccer Association (ENYYSA), has the largest scholarship program in Eastern New York. The league distributed 29 scholarships at the LIJSL Scholarship Breakfast on Sunday, July 21 at the Huntington Hilton. These well-rounded teenagers, selected based on academic and athletic excellence plus community service, exemplify the mission of the league and its idealistic slogan of “Building Character Through Soccer.”

NCPD: Suspect Burglarizes Oceanside Vape Shop After Shattering Front Window
The Fourth Squad reports the details of a Burglary that occurred on Friday, July 26, 2024 at 9:00 am in Oceanside. According to Detectives, Fourth Precinct Officers responded to Oceanside Star Bazzar Vape and Cigar Shop, located at 2947 Long Beach Road, for a Commercial Burglary. Upon arrival it was determined that an unknown subject wearing a dark hoodie and dark pants broke the front window and entered the business. Further investigation revealed that an unknown amount of Vapes were removed from the business. The subject fled on foot through the rear of the building.
