A portion of Country Club Road Northwest just north of the Olympia Country and Golf Club on Cooper Point has been closed and will remain so for more than a year so crews can remove an old culvert and construct a new bridge over Green Cove Creek.

According to a news release from Thurston County Public Works, Country Club Road Northwest from Country Club Loop to 40th Lane will be closed until Sept. 30, 2025. The project is designed to enhance fish passage, improve the health of the creek’s ecosystem and improve road safety.

Construction work is scheduled during the day, from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Saturday, and it’s weather dependent. Boards and signage are installed along Country Club Road to warn drivers of the closure.

During the closure, crews will remove more than 20,000 cubic yards of material where the road is and replace it with a bridge. More information can be found on the county’s Public Works Projects website , or by calling 360-867-2300.
