Chicago Park District Golf Unveils 2024 Amateur Championship Schedule

The Chicago Park District Golf has unveiled its amateur tournament schedule for the summer of 2024. With seven exciting events taking place from June through September, amateur golfers in the Chicago area will have ample opportunities to showcase their skills and compete for prestigious titles.
Tournaments for All Skill Levels and Ages
The 2024 schedule includes tournaments catering to various skill levels and age groups. The 41st Senior Amateur Championship, held at Marquette Park Golf Course on June 22 and 23, is open to golfers aged 50 and above. The 51st Junior Amateur Championship, taking place at Jackson Park Golf Course on July 22 and 23, will feature two divisions: one for ages 10 to 13 and another for ages 14 to 18.

108th Cook County Amateur Championship – July 5 through 7 at Columbus Park Golf Course
119th Chicago City Amateur Championship – July 19 through 21 at Jackson Park Golf Course
51st Junior Amateur Championship for ages 10 to 13 and 14 to 18 – July 22 and 23 at Jackson Park Golf Course
1st Chicago Women’s Amateur Championship – August 10 and 11 at South Shore Golf Course
96th Midwest Amateur Championship – August 24 and 25 at Sydney R. Marovitz Golf Course
28th International Championship – September 28 and 29 at Robert A. Black Golf Course
Introducing the Inaugural Chicago Women's Amateur Championship
In a historic move, Chicago Park District Golf will host the inaugural Chicago Women's Amateur Championship on Aug. 10 and 11 at South Shore Golf Course. This event marks a significant step toward promoting and celebrating women's golf in the city.
Matt McIntee, Vice President of Business Development for Troon, expressed his enthusiasm for the upcoming tournaments.
"We're excited to share this summer's Championship schedule with the Chicago golf community. We have incredible tournaments planned for amateur golfers who enjoy competing against others in the community."
Rich History and Iconic Venues
The Chicago City Amateur Championship, now in its 119th edition, holds a special place in golf history. Golf legend and Evans Scholar namesake, Charles "Chick" Evans, claimed the title four times. The tournament will be held at Jackson Park Golf Course from July 19 through 21.
Other notable events include the 108th Cook County Amateur Championship at Columbus Park Golf Course, the 96th Midwest Amateur Championship at Sydney R. Marovitz Golf Course, and the 28th International Championship at Robert A. Black Golf Course.
Registration and Entry Fees
Amateur golfers interested in participating in these championships can visit the Chicago Park District Golf website for more information and to register. Entry fees range from $35 to $195 and include green fees, a prize fund, tee gifts, and a daily lunch for participants.
Nick Pulido, general manager overseeing operations at Marquette Park and Columbus Park Golf Courses, expressed his pride in hosting the Senior Amateur and Cook County Amateur Championships, stating, "We're proud to be part of the fabric of the Chicago golf scene and be a place for people to compete for championships."
