White Sox to Swap Relievers with Dominic Leone Injured

The Chicago White Sox are expected to augment their bullpen before Friday's game against the Houston Astros. Per Daryl Van Schouwen of the Chicago Sun-Times , the Sox will add Matt Foster to the roster and place Dominic Leone on the injured list.

Dominic Leone is dealing with an elbow injury that caused him to exit early from Wednesday's game against the New York Yankees.

The right-hander has been limited to 19 innings in 2024 as right elbow inflammation kept him out for two and a half months earlier this season. When available, Leone struggled with command as he posted a 6.6 BB/9, which played into a rough 6.63 ERA .

Matt Foster is set to return to the big leagues for the first time since 2022. The Alabama native missed last season after undergoing Tommy John surgery, which required recovery into 2024.

Foster, who owns a 4.34 ERA in 112.2 MLB innings for his career, posted a 3.07 ERA and 12.3 K/9 across 14.2 innings between the Arizona Complex League and Triple-A Charlotte during a recent rehab assignment .
