Chicago Red Stars Add Rosella Ayane on Loan from Tottenham

The Chicago Red Stars added another international forward to their ranks ahead of the transfer deadline.

Chicago signed Moroccan international forward Rosella Ayane on loan from Tottenham Hotspur of the Women’s Super League in England for the rest of the 2024 NWSL season. Per the announcement , Ayane will occupy one of the club’s international roster spots and has received her P-1 Visa and International Transfer Certificate, verifying the deal.

Ayane, 28, grew up in Reading, England and began her professional career at Chelsea in 2013. She spent time on loan at Millwall, Bristol City and Everton before joining Cypriot side Apollon Limassol in 2017. Ayane returned to England in 2018 when she signed with Bristol City before joining Tottenham in 2019.

Standing 5’11”, Ayane isn’t the most prolific goal-scorer but has a knack for using her size in hold-up play. As a short-term acquisition, she has the chance to play herself into a role on an NWSL side in 2025.
