Chicago Blackhawks Injury Update: Artyom Levshunov Sidelined with Foot Issue

Training camp hasn't begun but the Chicago Blackhawks are already dealing with an injury. The team announced Wednesday that defenseman Artyom Levshunov is sidelined with a right foot injury.

Multiple reports indicate Levshunov suffered the injury when he took a shot off his foot during a recent practice.

Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman added that Levshunov is expected to be in a walking boot and will be out "for a few weeks." However, the veteran reporter doesn't believe the injury is "too serious."

As a result, Blackhawks fans will have to wait to see the 2024 No. 2 overall draft pick in action. Levshunov is expected to miss this weekend's Tom Kurvers Prospect Showcase , during which the Blackhawks will play two games.

Rockford IceHogs head coach Anders Sorensen, who will lead Chicago's prospects at the upcoming showcase, didn't provide a definitive timeline for Levshunov's return.
