Brandt Snedeker Named 2024 Presidents Cup Captain's Assistant

In an unexpected yet welcome turn of events, the 2024 Presidents Cup, has witnessed a significant change in its U.S. team dynamics all thanks in part to the recent play of Keegan Bradley.

Jim Furyk, the U.S. team captain, announced on Tuesday that Brandt Snedeker, a respected figure in professional golf, will be one of his captain’s assistants. Snedeker will be taking over the duties previously assigned to Bradley, who will now compete in the tournament after being named one of Furyk's captain's picks .

A Strategic Shift in the U.S. Team

Snedeker, a seasoned golfer with a decorated career including nine PGA Tour victories , brings a unique blend of experience and leadership to the position. Notably, his presence is expected to add some depth to the U.S. team's advisors.

“I enjoyed competing together with Brandt at the 2012 Ryder Cup at Medinah. He is a fierce competitor, great teammate, and one of the most respected players on the PGA Tour,” said Furyk.

A Trusted Voice and Veteran Presence

Snedeker’s appointment comes off the back of a career that not only includes formidable performances in various tournaments but also recognition like the 2024 Payne Stewart Award for his character, sportsmanship, and charitable contributions. With this new role, he joins the ranks of Stewart Cink, Justin Leonard, and Kevin Kisner, enhancing the team’s advisory panel with his insights and experience.

“My goal is to add a trusted voice to our players throughout the week and do everything I can to help us pull out the win,” Snedeker expressed. His history of competing in previous Presidents Cups and Ryder Cups positions him as an invaluable mentor to the team, especially in guiding the six captain’s picks, including Keegan Bradley.
