Teuvo Teravainen, Connor Bedard Shine in Blackhawks Commanding Win Over Oilers

When looking at the Chicago Blackhawks' schedule before the season began, a lot of fans may have expected their first win to come against someone like Winnipeg or Calgary in the their first four games. Some fans may have guessed the Hawks to win the season opener in Utah. Nonetheless, few people had the Hawks walking out of Edmonton with two points.

Despite the doubt, that's exactly what happened on Saturday night. On Hockey Night in Canada, the Blackhawks took care of business against the Edmonton Oilers with a 5-2 victory. Although impressive, it may be the individual performances from Teuvo Teravainen and Connor Bedard that really steal the spotlight.

The Hawks took the lead with the birthday boy, Philipp Kurashev, picking up a goal . Despite Corey Perry tying the game, the Blackhawks power play took over from there. Seth Jones scored on a setup from both Bedard and Teravainen, Bedard scored his first of the season to make it 3-1, and Teravainen scored his second goal as a Blackhawk to make it a 4-1 game.

Although Edmonton fought back, Teravainen scored again on a beauty to seal the deal. A no-look pass from Alex Vlasic on the power play set Teravainen up for a beautiful one-timer to secure a 5-2 win.

Through three games, both Teravainan and Bedard have five points. Teravainen has three goals and two assists while Bedard has one goal and four apples. So far, the two are humming on the Blackhawks' top line. Their performances on Saturday carried the Blackhawks to an impressive victory over the defending Western Conference champions.

A 1-1-1 record might not be overly exciting to some fans, but after the incredible performances from Teravainen and Bedard, it's hard not to be excited about the upcoming slate of games.
