The PIF and LIV Golf are searching for a new CEO, according to Josh Carpenter of Sports Business Journal . Greg Norman, 69, has served as the league's CEO since its emergence in 2021. He's expected to remain with LIV Golf in some capacity.

    Things Are Happening...

I've long maintained that a deal between the PIF and PGA Tour would only be completed if Jay Monahan and Greg Norman were no longer involved in the business aspects of an agreement. Now, the first domino has fallen, and it seems to be a sign of progress.

On the LIV Golf front, Norman is expected to remain in a senior role overseeing the league's day-to-day functions. However, LIV is clearly looking for a CEO with more business acumen moving forward, which makes a lot of sense. Even Tiger Woods has gone on record stating the best way to get a merger would be ousting Norman from the driver's seat.

Greg Norman has a long-standing vendetta against the PGA Tour. He was the architect behind LIV Golf, a vessel to regain respect in the golf world after his run as a controversial yet decorated player. I believe the search for a new CEO is good news and a positive step for the world of professional golf and chances at reunification.

Now, golf fans will have to wait and see if the PGA chooses to follow suit regarding Jay Monahan. The first domino has fallen, and it's a big one. Perhaps something can come to fruition as soon as 2026? But don't get your hopes up just yet. We still have a long way to go before true progress is made.
