The 2024 softball season came to a close on Monday evening at Nolensville for the Coffee County Lady Raiders as fell to the Knights 10-4. In the region semi-final game, the Lady Raiders were led at the plate by Willow Carden and Chesnie Cox. Both seniors had two hits in the contest. Tennessee Military to Conduct Emergency Response Exercises May 15-19
The Tennessee Military Department, along with several other agencies, will conduct emergency response exercises across the state from May 15 through May 19. The “Tennessee Maneuvers 2024” exercise will take place in Hamilton, Bradley, McMinn, Rhea, Coffee, Davidson, Gibson, Hawkins, Knox, Loudon, Madison, Maury, Rutherford, Sullivan, and Wilson Counties.
Tornado Confirmed in Lincoln County on May 8
The National Weather Service confirms that a tornado touched down in Lincoln County during the May 8 outbreak. The National Weather Service says an EF-1 tornado with 105-mile-per-hour winds touched down northeast of Ardmore and traveled more than six miles, ending southwest of Fayetteville, according to the NWS. Its path width was 1.5 times the size of a football field.
