Coffee County Softball Defeats Tullahoma on St Patrick’s Day
On Sunday afternoon, St Patrick’s Day, the Tullahoma Lady Cats hosted the Coffee County Lady Raiders in a non-district softball game. Coffee County scored 8 runs in the 5th inning to push the game into the run-rule advantage. The Lady Raiders moved to 3-0 on the season with a 20-6 win in 5 innings over the 2-1 Lady Cats.
Red Raider Baseball Update
On Thursday, the Coffee County Red Raiders defeated Middle Tennessee Christian 13-8. Brady Daugherty had a big game. He had 3 hits, knocked in 4 runs, and scored once. Coulter Neel also had 3 hits, scored 3 times, and had 2 RBI. Bird Fellers had 3 hits, scored twice, and was the winning pitcher. Cole Pippenger contributed 2 hits and 2 runs scored. Trey Turner added a triple, 2 RBI, and scored 2 times.

Student Inventors at East Side Elementary in Bedford County Advance to Nationals
East Side Elementary School’s Invention Club had six students compete at the 31st Annual Invention Convention at Middle Tennessee State University on February 22nd. Bedford County Solid Waste Policies Clarify Misinformation that’s been Circulating
Bedford County Convenience Centers are open for use by all county residents, whether they live inside or outside city/town limits. This has always been the case. However, the City of Shelbyville’s policy is that its blue garbage containers – which are individually numbered, assigned to a given address, but owned by the city – are not to be taken away from their assigned addresses, even for the purpose of dumping. That’s the city’s policy, not ours, and can easily be confirmed on the city’s website ( https://shelbyvilletn.org/departments/public_works/solid_waste2/residential_collection.php ). For this reason, and this reason only, convenience centers won’t accept any garbage that is brought in using those blue cans. City residents bringing in their bagged trash any other way – such as in the trunk or in a pickup truck — are always welcome and always have been.

Coffee County Pitchers Throw Perfect Game in Run-Rule Defeat of Spring Hill
The Coffee County Lady Raiders only took an hour and five minutes to dispose of Spring Hill 12-0 in high school softball on Wednesday night at Terry Floyd Field. Lily Norman was on fire in the circle. The sophomore started the game and faced only nine batters, striking out all nine. Update on Fatal Crash in Coffee County
We have a follow up to a story we brought you last week. According to a report from the Tennessee Highway Patrol, on March 6, at 11:30 PM, a 2004 Nissan Pathfinder was traveling on State Route 280/Ferrell’s Loop Road in Coffee County and crossed the center line. After negotiating a curve, the driver lost control of the vehicle, causing it to overturn into a ditch.

Lady Cats Swat Yellow Jackets in Season Opener
The Tullahoma Lady Wildcats softball team opened the season with a bang, run ruling Grundy County 16-1 in three innings at East Middle School in Tullahoma Monday. After falling behind 1-0 in the top of the first the Lady Cats struck right back as they sent 12 batters to the plate and put 7 runs on the board. They’d bat around as well in the second as 10 Tullahoma batters came to the plate and another 6 runs were tallied by the Lady Cats. Finally Tullahoma scored three more runs in the bottom of the third to end the game early.
