Raider Baseball Defeats Central Magnet
On Friday, in the Crethan Hansert Memorial baseball classic in Manchester, the Coffee County Red Raiders defeated Murfreesboro’s Central Magnet 10-3. Nate Rutledge had a huge day at the plate, going 4-for-4 with 3 RBI and scoring three times. Cole Pippenger had two hits, including a home run, 2 RBI, and scored three runs. Blake Hillis and Davis McKenzie had two hits each.
Zimmerman Named Tullahoma City School Volunteer of the Year
During Tuesday’s meeting, the Tullahoma Board of Education celebrated eight building-level volunteers for their contributions to the district. “TCS volunteers generously donate their time, talents, and creativity to support teachers, staff, and students on a routine basis,” said TCS Director of Schools, Dr. Catherine Stephens. “Each of these TCS volunteers exhibits qualities of outstanding contributions to their schools and the district through their exemplary leadership and service. TCS is thankful for each volunteer and their contributions, which cultivate a culture that focuses on students first and, yet, supports and encourages all teachers and staff, too.”
Republican Caucus to Choose Candidate for Coffee County Mayor Set for May 23 (Rules)
The Coffee County Republican Party will conduct a caucus to select a candidate for Coffee County Mayor for the August 1, 2024, General Election ballot. The caucus will be held at the Coffee County High School (gymnasium or cafeteria) on Thursday, May 23. Voter registration begins at 4:30 p.m., with the caucus starting at 6:00 p.m.

The highly anticipated return of the Nashville Kats, an Arena Football League team, will take place on April 27. On Target Marketing, General Manager Glenn Goodwin announced on Thursday that The Rooster 101.5 will be the area’s radio partner for Kats football. Legendary play-by-play broadcaster Eli Gold will handle the call of the action. Gold was the over 30-year Voice of Alabama football.

Falcons Defeat Raiders in Tuesday District 9-AAAA Baseball
In Fayetteville on Tuesday night, the Lincoln County Falcons hosted the Coffee County Red Raiders in District 9-AAAA baseball. The Falcons jumped to a 5-0 lead after 2 innings, but the Raiders roared back with three runs in the third and two in the fourth to tie the game. Lincoln County kept their scoring going and finished up with a 12-5 win.
Police Standoff Ends with the Arrest of Morrison Man
On April 9th, 2024, at approximately 8:53 p.m., deputies with the Warren County Sheriff’s Office responded to Marcrom Road, located in Morrison, TN, regarding a welfare check on a possible domestic assault. Officers were made aware that the victim had left the residence. Dispatch advised the deputies that the suspect was believed to be intoxicated and that he had weapons in the home. Dispatch also advised deputies that the suspect had fired at least one shot prior to the victim leaving the residence.
