Ruston (La.) cornerback Aidan Anding has quickly turned from a little-known 5-foot-11 prospect into one of the more sought-after cornerbacks in the 2025 cycle. And as summer official visits approach, a handful of schools are standing out.

Miami, Texas, TCU, Arkansas and Baylor are all high up for the unranked 2025 prospect as schools continue to roll into his high school to check up on the 165-pound cornerback, Anding told CaneSport . He’s scheduled June official visits with each program except Baylor and has received strong recruiting pushes from all five programs since receiving offers from each school this calendar year. Miami, Texas and TCU have each visited his school this spring, although he said he likes where things sit with the Hurricanes.

“They’re definitely in one of the top-ranked positions after these (in-school) visits,” Anding said. “Because after these (in-school) visits I’ve got my OVs, and I’ll start seeing if these schools check my boxes and if they’re fits for me. …Our relationship is very good. We can talk, we’ll text each other about more than football. We’ll just talk about random stuff or just talk about how my day is going. It’s not just about football.”

Secondary coach Chevis Jackson dropped by his school last week, just over a month after Anding visited Miami for the first time and made a strong impression. Anding says Miami, along with his other top schools, has continued to make him feel prioritized, and Jackson’s decision to swing by Ruston only made him feel more wanted in Coral Gables. He’ll take official visits to Miami May 31, TCU June 7, Arkansas June 14 and Texas June 21.

His communication with Miami’s staff has made the Hurricanes special.

“I feel pretty good (about Miami),” Anding said. “I’ve got an OV set there and I’m just looking forward to seeing how it really is, getting a chance to meet with some of the players and seeing how they feel about the school. Me and (Jackson), we’ve talked about a lot of stuff. I’ve seen the way he coaches his players, and the way he coaches them really makes sense.”

Anding said he’s talked to more Miami coaches than he can name and feels the staff has done its best to make him feel welcome and comfortable in Coral Gables, adding that opportunities as a freshman will also factor into his decision. Anding said he does not want to redshirt his freshman season.

    CaneSport’s Take

We’re adding Anding to our list of under-the-radar prospects for Miami fans to know, joining players like three-star offensive linemen Gabe Smith and Demetrius Campbell , three-star running back Jasper Parker , three-star cornerback Mark Manfred and unranked EDGE Derry Norris . Unranked offensive linemen TK Muex also recently locked in an official visit after receiving a Miami offer. The Hurricanes have shown substantial interest in each prospect and are expected to host all seven for official visits next month.
