Shedd Sarratt Jr. has continued to prove this offseason that he is one of the top offensive linemen in the country. His recruitment has expanded to include Florida State, Tennessee and others with plenty more elite schools showing interest.

NC State offered the nation’s No. 181 recruit in January. He visited the program for the April 6 spring game and, while the Gaffney (S.C.) High four-star prospect has been considered a South Carolina lean for months, his recruitment remains open.

Wolfpack offensive line coach Garett Tujague and quarterbacks coach Kurt Roper both visited his school recently. Their meeting led to a potential summer visit for Sarratt.

“It went good,” Sarratt said. “We were trying to set up an official visit date.”

The lineman only has one visit set in stone— a June 21-23 weekend with South Carolina. Colorado and Florida State are also standing out in his recruitment, and there is buzz behind the scenes that Ohio State is ramping up its interest.

NC State remains in the mix as well. His initial impression of Tujague is the main reason why he wants to take that trip.

“I like the way coach Tujague coaches,” Sarratt said. “When I went for the spring game, the players were like ‘He’s like a dad.’”

Sarratt said NC State is recruiting him to play both guard and tackle. On3 considers the 6-3.5, 290-pound prospect the No. 12 interior offensive lineman in the country and the No. 4 overall recruit in South Carolina’s 2025 class. The rising senior would prefer to play tackle at the next level.

He previously set a June 14 commitment date, planning to wrap up his decision before his official visit to South Carolina. Now, his plans are up in the air.

“I really don’t know yet,” Sarratt said. “I might have to reschedule.”

With the Gamecocks, he already knew most of the offensive linemen because he trains with them. Sarratt used his trip to Raleigh to get to meet some of his potential future teammates at NC State. He spoke with redshirt sophomore Val Erickson while on campus.

    “He was cool,” Sarratt said.

The lineman still plans on taking all of his official visits in June. If he ends up spending a weekend with the Pack, he has a list of questions to ask the current players while he learns more about the city of Raleigh as well.

“First, I’m going to ask the players ‘What are the coaches like behind the scenes?’” Sarratt said. “I’m going to ask how’s the school…how long are they free, stuff like that.”
