The high school football season is right around the corner and to build up the anticipation, Lettermen Row is going to roll out a primer for every Ohio State commit. There are 24 pledges to the Buckeyes’ 2025 class and we will discuss things we want to see from the commits, and one big game for the pledge. This is story No. 6 .

COLUMBUS — Ohio State and Bodpegn Miller never knew they were going to be a match for one another when the calendar flipped from 2023 to 2024. How quickly things change in recruiting.

Miller, essentially on a whim, camped at Ohio State in June but did so as a wide receiver. He plays quarterback for Ontario High School in Mansfield, Ohio. But he camped as a wideout and worked out for Brian Hartline and Devin Jordan.

His performance earned him another camp invite, this time for Ohio State’s annual 7v7 event that ends the camp season. Miller caught two passes before Hartline ran out onto the field and offered him.

Now an Ohio State commit, Miller stares down a massive senior season with lofty expectations. He starts his season at home on Aug. 23 against nearby Lexington. But before he does, Lettermen Row has a few things we’re eager to see from Miller. We also highlight one big game on Miller’s schedule.

    Things to Watch

Bodpegn Miller will play quarterback for Ontario this fall. He’s the best player on the team and the best player on a high school team typically plays quarterback.

But there has to be an effort to have Miller take snaps at wide receiver. Ontario made it to the second round of the playoffs last fall largely behind Miller’s abilities. The balance between him playing quarterback and wide receiver this fall is the most important thing for him heading into his career at Ohio State.

Should he get snaps at wide receiver this fall, it’s the basic fundamentals that matter the most. Stance and start. Not taking any false steps, clean breaks, knowing route yardages and of course, catching the football.

    One Big Game

The big game for Miller this fall is a week nine road game against Shelby. That was the only team Ontario lost to in the 2023 regular season. Turnovers dampened an otherwise solid outing from Miller, who completed 12 passes for 168 yards and one touchdown, but two interceptions. He tacked on two more touchdowns on the ground on 93 yards and 18 carries.
