High school football has kicked off in the state of Georgia. The Corky Kell + Dave Hunter Classic kicked things off last Wednesday and teams from all over the Peach State were in action this weekend. On3’s Director of Recruiting attended games on Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday all over the state and he highlights some prospects that caught his eye.

    2028 ATH Casey Barner

Atlanta Douglass played the first game of the season in Georgia last Wednesday when it knocked off Lagrange in a 4:30pm contest. One of the stars was freshman Casey Barner . He already has offers from Georgia , Georgia State and UAB. He will add many more. Barner is likely a defensive back on the next level, but he scored a touchdown out of the backfield in game one. He is mature beyond his years, he already shows great leadership and he is an explosive athlete with versatility. Barner added an offer from Tennessee after his performance and the Vols offered his twin brother, 2028 running back Ja’Narious Barner as well.

    3-star DL Caleb Bell

Caleb Bell is committed to Arkansas , but the Razorbacks are likely going to have to fend off some others to keep him in this class. The 6-foot-3, 260-pound defensive lineman at Milton was disruptive all game in a win over Milton Friday night. He pressed the quarterback, he sat the edge and played with energy. Bell was very active. Texas recently offered and he wants to visit Austin. Mississippi State is expected to get him on campus this fall. Others will likely check in with Bell to gauge his interest.

    4-star WR CJ Wiley

The Florida State commit at Milton scored what ended up being the game-clinching touchdown early in the second half to help Milton move to 1-0. Wiley is a smooth receiver with a big catch radius and great body control. He was open often, he showed he could create separation and when the ball is within reach, he made a play on it. Georgia and LSU aren’t giving up on Wiley and he is expected to take some visits during the season. He finished with 84 yards on 7 receptions and a touchdown Friday night.

    2026 4-star DL Bryce Perry-Wright

Buford fell in the season opener to Buford by a score of 13-10 in a game that was delayed over two hours because of thunderstorms, but Bryce Perry-Wright didn’t disappoint. He got Buford on the board with a safety in the second half and he was in the backfield often. Perry-Wright played with power and he was tough for Milton to deal with in the trenches. Auburn is a school to watch early, but Perry-Wright is keeping his options open.

    2027 RB Brayden Tyson

Brookwood fell to Walton early on Saturday, but Brayden Tyson looks to be a future star in that backfield. The 6-foot-1, 215-pound sophomore is listed as an athlete, but he is running back with size, power and patience. He hit the hole, ran through tackles and finished with 168 yards on 23 carries and 2 touchdowns. He is a Georgia legacy and the Bulldogs have offered. Other schools like Florida State , Ole Miss , Oregon , Tennessee and Wisconsin have offered.

    3-star DL Braxton Kyle

Braxton Kyle did it all in North Gwinnett ‘s win over McEachern Saturday afternoon. He was an interception, a strip sack and he created quite the buzz throughout Mercedes-Benz Stadium. The Rutgers commit was offered by Texas after his performance. Georgia recently offered the three-star too. He showed up in Georgia gloves and the Bulldogs have his attention. Kyle is 6-foot-4, 305-pounds and he is expected to take some visits in the fall.

    2026 4-star EDGE Jordan Carter

There is a lot of buzz around Douglas County this season and Jordan Carter is one of the reasons why. Many in the Peach State that cover high school football expect the Tigers to push for a state title and their 42-7 win over Cedar Grove showed why. Carter set the tone early defensively with a tackle for loss. He was chasing the ball carrier down from the back side, he was pushing the offensive tackle into the backfield and he was pressuring the quarterback often Saturday night. Carter has added weight, he is strong at the point of attack and he accelerates quickly off the ball. Schools like Auburn , Georgia, Tennessee and Texas A&M are on Carter’s radar early.

    2027 OT Joshua Sam-Epelle

When Douglas County gets off the bus, Joshua Sam-Epelle should lead the way. The 6-foot-8, 300-pound sophomore offensive tackle passes the eye test. He has been offered by over a dozen schools including Alabama , Auburn, Georgia and Tennessee. He is on pace to be one of the best in the country for 2027 at his position. Sam-Epelle has the size, but he bends well, he is athletic and he oozes with upside.
