Four-star offensive lineman Mario Nash of De Kalb (Miss.) Kemper County, who committed to Mississippi State in June, hasn’t ruled out officially visiting other schools.

“Well, I’m pretty solid with Mississippi State, but I’m just making sure everything is what it needs to be,” Nash said. “I’m pretty much watching everybody this season. Still just watching all the schools. I want to make sure I’m where I’m supposed to be. … The thing is, until everything is signed everyone is still going to be recruiting me.”

Nash, listed at 6-foot-4, 270 pounds, is the No. 22 tackle nationally for the On3 Industry Rankings. Given his size, he probably could play outside or inside. Nash said Sunday night multiple colleges continue to push for him.

“A few schools are after me pretty heavy,” Nash said. “I’ve still got Ole Miss. I’ve still got Clemson. I’ve still got Florida State. Those are the schools that are after me the most.”

According to Nash, he’s also hearing some from Florida.

“It’s mostly just messages,” Nash said. “I get texts every two weeks. It’s a couple guys on the staff. They send me random messages about my season and how it’s going. Things like that. I haven’t really talked to (offensive line coaches Rob Sale or Jonathan Decoster ) lately.”

The Gators sent Nash his official offer last week.

Mario Nash officially visited three schools in June

Nash officially visited the Bulldogs, Ole Miss and LSU in June. An FSU official is on the schedule for October.

Nash has made two prior trips to Gainesville. He attended the 2023 Grill in the Ville recruiting event and returned to campus earlier this year. Could the Gators get him back on campus? He said Sunday he wouldn’t rule it out, especially if Florida decided to ramp up its communication with him.

“I’ll talk to Coach Sale and we’ll see,” Nash said. “Maybe a game during the season. Or an official visit during the season. An OV is still possible. It’s a beautiful place. Beautiful campus. Nice facilities. Everybody is very nice there. (What stands out with Florida) is just the tradition. And it’s my dad’s favorite school. He’s always been a big fan.”

In mid-June, Nash told Gators Online his dad was trying to set up a fall official visit with Florida. But then he committed to the Bulldogs two weeks later.

Nash might get an up-close look at the Gators when they play at Mississippi State on Sept. 21. He said he “more than likely” will attend that game.
