Inside The Lines: Get to know new Miami commit Bryce Fitzgerald

Over the last few months, an in-state battle between the Sunshine State’s big three programs has taken place for the services of four-star defensive back Bryce Fitzgerald . Miami, Florida, and Florida State all put their best foot forward in efforts to land the coveted defensive back, but it was ultimately the Hurricanes that were able to secure Fitzgerald’s commitment.

“It feels great, and I can’t wait to be a Cane,” Fitzgerald said. “It was really just how they recruited me and how hard they wanted me. They’ve shown it since day one, and I had to realize that.”

Now on the board, Fitzgerald joins a loaded Miami secondary recruiting class alongside defensive backs Hylton Stubbs , Jaboree Antoine , Chris Ewald , Amari Wallace , and Timothy Merritt .

Fitzgerald, who is the No. 122 overall prospect in the 2025 class according to the On3 Industry Ranking, believes the 2025 defensive back group has the potential to do big things in Coral Gables.

“We will bring back DB U,” Fitzgerald said. “Trust me. They’re going to get a dawg and one of the best defensive backs down south. And they will get a national championship.”

When the 5-foot-11, 175-pounder isn’t dominating on the gridiron, you can find Fitzgerald slamming down fast break dunks for the Explorers basketball team alongside top-25-ranked twin brothers Cayden and Cameron Boozer.

Like Fitzgerald, the Boozer twins are also being heavily pursued by the Hurricanes in the 2025 recruiting cycle.

“It’s great,” Fitzgerald said when asked about playing with the Boozer twins. “Seeing them lead me on the basketball court even though I’m a leader on the football field is great because they’re helping me and I’m helping them, so it’s great playing with them.”
