Georgia losing two road games in 2024 heavily doubted

Last season, the conversation surrounding Georgia ‘s schedule was the ease they would run through hit will, something that played out. This year is a bit different, presenting one of the toughest in all of college football. Could multiple losses, specifically on the road, occur for Georgia in 2024?

If you ask Ty Hildenbrandt of the Solid Verbal podcast, the answer is no.

“Georgia is not losing two road games,” Hildenbrant said during Tuesday’s episode of Andy Staples On3 . “They’re not losing two road games. There will be plenty of landmines and plenty of opportunities for them to lose… This year, that schedule is the fifth toughest per our friend Bill Connoly at ESPN. So, there are plenty of opportunities to go out there and lose.”

The biggest landmines fall in Tuscaloosa, Austin, and Oxford. Georgia will face three College Football Playoff hopefuls, all on the road. Alabama , Texas , nor Ole Miss will host bigger games this season than Kirby Smart’s club. All three teams, coaches, and fanbases will be ready to roll for those games.

Kentucky will also welcome their former SEC East rival to Lexington Week 3, being another huge game.

So why is Hildenbrant confident Georgia will not slip up twice while on the road? Returning production is the main reason, citing the talent the Bulldogs have coming back after going 12-0 during last year’s regular season. It’s not something we see in college football too often but when we do, high-level results are usually produced.

“They’re 29th in returning production,” Hildenbrant said. “Which is an insane level of production from a really good team that returns in 2024. That’s why a lot of us liked Michigan to win the national title a year ago. You don’t often see that level of returning production on a really good team.

“So, from that standpoint alone, I could see Georgia dropping one but I think there is just too much organization around that program, too much talent on the depth chart that I’m going to sit here today and lose two on the road.”

Georgia has not lost multiple regular season games since 2020. One of those was a trip to Bryant-Denny Stadium as the eventual national champions came out on top. Looking the Smart era alone, history tells us multiple losses in unlikely.

Even with a significantly tougher schedule, Hildenbrant is not buying into the idea of two road losses.
