Georgia is coming on strong in the recruitment of Douglasville (Ga.) Douglas County 2026 four-star wide receiver Aaron Gregory .

Georgia offered the No. 31 overall prospect in the 2026 On3 Industry Rankings early on. It was Bryan McClendon leading the charge as Georgia’s wide receiver coach at that time. When Coley made the move to the NFL to coach the Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ wideouts, Georgia fizzled a bit in Gregory’s recruitment.

Now, new wide receiver coach James Coley has joined in to help Georgia into a good space with Gregory. Gregory was in Athens for a team 7-on-7 back over the summer. Conversations picked up around June 15.

Before the latest dead period, Gregory fit in one more trip to Athens. The Bulldogs impressed once again. The vibes in Athens were good.

“Some things that stood out was how cool everybody was,” Gregory told DawgsHQ. “I feel like it was a really good vibe.”

Gregory raved about how Georgia’s coaching staff treated him and his family throughout the day.

“The coaches treated me and my family very well,” Gregory said. “They are very open and very kind people and they made me feel good like always.”

Gregory and Coley continue to grow close. The July 29 visit only added another chapter to that relationship.

“I feel like I got way closer with coach Coley this time and just that relationship with him (is growing),” Gregory said. “The way me and coach Coley just connected. We talked a lot about football. I got to pick his brain a little bit.”

Where is Georgia on Aaron Gregory’s board?

On3’s Recruiting Prediction Machine has Georgia at the top for Gregory at the moment. The Bulldogs have an 18.7 percent chance of landing the four-star playmaker according to RPM.

Gregory feels good about where things stand with the in-state program as well.

” I feel like things stand really good, especially with Georgia in relationships and get it down as often as I can,” Gregory said.

Gregory is already making plans to return to Georgia in the fall for a gameday.
