Georgia will be looking for new playmakers this season with Ladd McConkey and Brock Bowers now wearing NFL uniforms. Carson Beck ‘s return will certainly help, as there are a few candidates to take over in Athens. One of those is wide receiver Dillon Bell , somebody Senior Bowl EVP Jim Nagy recently placed on the 2024 watchlist.

Nagy believes Bell will be able to do “Anything he wants to” in the Georgia offense this season. When originally looking at Bell, all Nagy could do was look at the numbers — not the most impressive for a receiver on a top unit. However, he could not have come away more impressed with Bell, calling him “really talented.”

“He can do anything he wants to do,” Nagy said during Friday’s episode of Andy Staples On3 . “This guy is really talented. He was one of the guys when we were trying to identify juniors this offseason that we needed to evaluate for the watch list, sometimes, all you can do is look at the numbers… Stats lie all the time, I’m sorry, they do… We’re looking for guys with traits so if you look at Dillon Bell’s numbers, it might not reflect it — this dude is really talented.”

Nagy is right about the stats from Bell not popping off the page. In 14 games, he caught 29 receptions for 355 yards and two touchdowns. Bell added 157 yards and two touchdowns on the ground on 25 carries, bringing his total yardage for the 2023 season to 512. An average of 9.5 yards per touch is not too shabby.

But when turning on the film to watch Bell, the traits are too much for Nagy to deny. Georgia will likely be getting the ball in his hands a lot more this season. Maybe those numbers will begin to inflate as well, adding the stats to a skillset Nagy already likes.

“You can line him up in the backfield, the slot, outside, and he can threaten you from any position,” Nagy said. “He fits. He’s got quickness to win inside, he’s got speed to win out on the perimeter. He’s got the strength to line up in the backfield and break tackles. You just want to get the ball in this guy’s hand. I would expect a monster year from him.”
