Kamilla Cardoso notched more career-highs, but she still ended up on the wrong end of an A’ja Wilson game-winner. Get the details plus what the other former Gamecocks were up to last week in the WNBA.

    Atlanta Dream (10-18)
Laeticia Amihere (12 games, 4.3 minutes, 1.1 pts, 1.8 rebs)
Amihere may have set the record for the shortest playing time with her one-second cameo against Phoenix.

    Last week:
    Vs Phoenix (72-63 win): DNP-CD
Vs Phoenix (82-80 loss): 1 second, no stats

    Allisha Gray (28 games (28 starts), 32.9 mpg, 15.9 ppg, 4.0 rpg, 2.5 apg, 1.0 spg)
Healthy Atlanta means a more effective Allisha Gray and some much-needed wins. The Dream are only a half-game out of the final playoff spot despite a brutal July.

    Last week:
    Vs Phoenix (72-63 win): 33 minutes*, 21 points, 3 rebounds, 2 assists
Vs Phoenix (82-80 loss): 32 minutes*, 22 points, 7 rebounds, 3 assists, 2 steals, block

    Upcoming games:
Monday, August 26 vs Indiana (7:30 ET, League Pass)
Wednesday, August 28 at Seattle (10:00 ET, League Pass)
Friday, August 30 at Las Vegas (10:00 ET, Ion/League Pass)
Sunday, September 1 at Los Angeles (7:00 ET, League Pass)

    Chicago Sky (11-18)
    Kamilla Cardoso (23 games (20 starts), 26.5 mpg, 9.0 ppg, 7.9 rpg, 1.3 apg, 1.2 bpg)
The Olympic break was good for Cardoso. Last week she had a new career high in rebounding, and this week Cardoso set new career bests for points, minutes, and blocks (all five on A’ja Wilson, for extra spice).

    Last week:
    At Connecticut (82-80 loss): 37 minutes*, 18 points, 6 rebounds, 2 assists
Vs Las Vegas (77-75 loss): 32 minutes*, 8 points, 12 rebounds, 5 blocks, 3 assists

    Upcoming games:
Wednesday, August 28 vs Washington (8:00 ET, League Pass)
Friday, August 30 vs Indiana (7:30 ET, Ion/League Pass)
Sunday, September 1 at Minnesota (3:00 ET, League Pass)

    Connecticut Sun (22-7)
    Ty Harris (28 games (27 starts), 29.6 mpg, 10.9 ppg, 3.0 apg, 1.6 rpg, 1.2 spg)
After trying Harris off the bench for one game, Connecticut has gone back to using her in the starting lineup. Harris had a quiet game against New York on Sunday, but the Sun still got their first win over New York or Las Vegas in the last two seasons.

    Last week:
Vs Los Angeles (69-61 win): 29 minutes*, 14 points, 4 assists, 3 steals, block rebound
Vs Chicago (82-80 win): 30 minutes*, 6 points, 3 steals, 2 assists, block, rebound
At New York (72-64 win): 16 minutes*, 5 points, rebound, assist

Tiffany Mitchell (24 games, 16.3 mpg, 4.9 ppg, 1.5 rpg)
Mitchell has not returned to the Sun following the break. She has been out with an undisclosed illness for several weeks. Hopefully, Mitchell will make a full recovery.

    Last week:
Vs Los Angeles (69-61 win): DNP-Illness
    Vs Chicago (82-80 win): DNP-Illness
At New York (72-64 win): DNP-Illness

    Upcoming games:
Wednesday, August 28 at Indiana (7:00 ET, League Pass)
Saturday, August 31 at Washington (3:00 ET, League Pass)
Sunday, September 1 vs Seattle (1:00 ET, League Pass)

    Indiana Fever (13-16)
    Aliyah Boston (29 games (29 starts), 30.9 mpg, 13.9 ppg, 9.2 rpg, 2.8 apg, 1.4 bpg)
Indiana had a light week so Boston was a ble to squeeze in a trip to Columbia before she hauled in 15 boards against the Lynx.

    Last week:
At Minnesota (90-80 loss): 36 minutes*, 10 points, 15 rebounds, assist, steal, block

Victaria Saxton (7 games, 2.1 mpg, 0.4 ppg, 0.1 rpg)
Saxton did not play against Minnesota.

    Last week:
    At Minnesota (90-80 loss): DNP-CD

    Upcoming games:
Monday, August 26 at Atlanta (7:30 ET, League Pass)
Wednesday, August 28 vs Connecticut (7:00 ET, League Pass)
Friday, August 30 at Chicago (7:30 ET, Ion/League Pass)
Sunday, September 1 at Dallas (4:00 ET, League Pass)

    Las Vegas Aces (18-11)
    A’ja Wilson (29 games (29 starts), 34.1 mpg, 26.6 ppg, 11.9 rpg, 2.3 apg, 2.7 bpg, 2.0 spg)
Las Vegas struggled in a pair of losses to Minnesota. Wilson had her double-digit rebounding streak snapped in those games. On Sunday she bounced back with 20/18/game-winner while also seemingly appearing in every other commercial during the game.

    Last week:
    Vs Minnesota (98-87 loss): 33 minutes*, 15 points, 9 rebounds, 6 assists, 2 steals
    At Minnesota (87-74 loss): 33 minutes*, 24 points, 7 rebounds, 3 assists
    At Chicago (77-75 win): 33 minutes*, 20 points, 18 rebounds, 3 blocks, 2 assists, 2 steals

    Upcoming games:
Tuesday, August 27 at Dallas (8:00 ET, League Pass)
Friday, August 30 vs Atlanta (10:00 ET, Ion/League Pass)
Sunday, September 1 at Phoenix (4:00 ET, League Pass)

    Los Angeles Sparks (6-24)
    Zia Cooke (23 games, 9.1 mpg, 3.4 ppg, 0.7 rpg, 0.7 apg)
Los Angeles isn’t openly tanking (yet), but it is in their best interest to lose out – the loss to Washington was especially important – and get the top draft pick.

    Last week:
    At Connecticut (69-61 loss): DNP-CD
At Washington (80-74 loss): 7 minutes, 7 points
    At Dallas (113-110 loss): DNP-CD

    Upcoming games:
Wednesday, August 28 vs New York (10:00 ET, League Pass)
Sunday, September 1 vs Atlanta (7:00 ET, League Pass)

    Phoenix Mercury (16-14)
    Mikiah Herbert Harrigan (23 games (3 starts), 11.3 mpg, 2.9 ppg, 1.5 rpg, 0.4 bpg, 0.6 spg)
Herbert Harrigan played in one of the two games last week, contributing some nice all-around play.

    Last week:
At Atlanta (72-63 loss): 9 minutes, 2 points, rebound, assist, steal
    At Atlanta (82-80 win): DNP-CD

    Upcoming games:
Monday, August 26 vs New York (10:00 ET, League Pass)
Wednesday, August 28 vs Minnesota (10:00 ET, League Pass)
Sunday, September 1 vs Las Vegas (4:00 ET, League Pass)

    Unsigned
    Brea Beal
Las Vegas cut Beal early in training camp.

Alaina Coates (Preseason stats with Seattle: 2 games, 8.0 minutes, 3.0 pts, 1.0 reb, 1.0 block)
Coates got a long look in Seattle but didn’t fit in with the Storm’s rebuild. She’s got lots of experience, though, and will probably be one of the first calls for any team that needs post depth for the stretch run.

Kaela Davis (Preseason stats with Seattle: 2 games, 14.0 minutes, 1.5 points, 3.5 rebs)
Davis was hoping to show she was fully recovered from an Achilles injury, but she didn’t do enough to convince Seattle.

    Destanni Henderson (6 games, 17.5 mpg, 4.0 ppg, 2.0 rpg, 2.5 apg)
Henderson was productive in a two-week stint for Atlanta but was released on Thursday, July 18. That was a given with her seven-day contract about to end and the season on hiatus. The question is whether she will get picked up for the second half.
