Michigan football has hired Jayden Everett as an analyst. The former Vanderbilt running backs coach was let go following the 2023 season. Everett coached with Michigan head man Sherrone Moore at Central Michigan in 2017.

Here’s more from his Vanderbilt bio :

In Everett’s first season at Vanderbilt, Sedrick Alexander earned SEC All-Freshman honors, the first Commodore since 2018 and the first Vandy running back since Warren Norman to earn a spot on the all-rookie team. Alexander played in all 12 games and led the team in both rushing and rushing touchdowns. He led all SEC freshmen in rushing yards and was the only freshman in the league with four or more rushing touchdowns.

With Tulsa in 2022, Everett mentee Deneric Prince led the team with 729 rushing yards, finishing among the American Athletic Conference’s top 10 and the top 100 in FBS.

Everett mentored Shamari Brooks to a 1,000-yard season in 2021. Brooks ran for seven touchdowns on the season and finished his career second on Tulsa’s career rushing yards list. As a team, the Golden Hurricane ranked third in the conference with 192 yards per game.

Prior to Tulsa, Everett spent four seasons as a running backs coach in the Mid-American Conference. He coached at Central Michigan from 2017-18 and Akron from 2019-20.

With the Zips, running back Teon Dollard ran for 666 yards and six touchdowns on 112 carries. Dollard was the first running back and just the fourth offensive player in program history to earn first team All-MAC honors.

For the Chippewas, Jonathan Ward ran for 1,019 yards and 13 touchdowns in 2017, adding 470 receiving yards. He was the first CMU running back to eclipse 1,000 rushing yards in three seasons and went on to play for the Arizona Cardinals before joining the Tennessee Titans.

    Michigan football is back today.

Michigan men’s soccer ties Oregon State, 1-1. The Wolverines are now 2-0-1 and are next in action Monday (Sept. 2) against Bowling Green.

    Quote Of The Day

“Just trying to do what I can to help the team win. I was telling the guys all day, ‘I don’t care what anybody’s stat line looks like, as long as we have a W at the end of the day.’ That’s not my focus at all.”
