Carrollton (Ga.) defeated Rome (Ga.) 44-22 Friday night, largely in part to a stellar performance from USC five-star quarterback commit Julian Lewis.

Lewis threw for 352 yards and five touchdowns, also picking up one score on the ground. Lewis’ five passing scores moved him up to 12th on the Georgia leaderboard for career passing touchdowns .

Initially a member of the class of 2026, Lewis has been committed to USC since last August and reclassified to the 2025 recruiting class in the winter.

Colorado and Indiana continue to battle to flip Lewis away from the Trojans, but he has thus far remained locked in with Southern Cal despite taking visits elsewhere.

“As of right now, I’m still locked in with USC. That’s still where my home is. Taking visits is kind of a part of the process, I was going to go see what’s going on everywhere else, but I’m still USC right now,” Lewis said earlier this month on ESPN .

He added that gameday visits are a possibility this fall.

“For me personally, when I committed it was for coach (Lincoln) Riley. I knew he was an offensive guru, that’s kind of been his thing is quarterbacks. Going out there to get developed by him is probably one of the best places you can be,” Lewis said.

“I’ll probably hit a couple games, I don’t know in specific, but I’ll probably go around a little bit.”

    Julian Lewis Recruit Profile

Lewis is the nation’s No. 23 overall prospect, No. 4 quarterback and No. 4 recruit from Georgia in the 2025 cycle according to the On3 Industry Ranking — a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

On3’s scouting and rankings team writes this about Lewis as a prospect.

“Polished, productive signal caller with the skill set of an accurate distributor. Measured at 6-foot, 186 pounds with a 9 ⅜-inch hand at the On3 Elite Series prior to his senior season. Has been a touted prospect for some time, earning offers in middle school. Was initially a member of the 2026 cycle before reclassifying into 2025. A productive and efficient passer while playing in a high classification. Completed 66.4% of his passes for 3,094 yards (11.1 yards per attempt) and 48 touchdowns against two interceptions as a junior. Technically polished and is able to replicate his over the top throwing motion with consistency. Shows the ability to place passes without much variance in location. Quick and decisive decision-maker. Dangerous when working over the middle of the field on RPO’s. Effective at working off of play action. Operates at a high level when in a clean pocket. Plays in an offense that often leans on the quick passing game.

“The youngest top quarterback prospect in the 2025 cycle, turning 17 years-old a month into his senior season. Not physically imposing at this stage and arm strength registers on the lower end among highly-rated peers at the position after reclassifying. Primarily an in-structure quarterback – needs to improve his ability as a rusher (zero rushing touchdowns through two varsity seasons) and improviser against pressure in addition to size and play strength to hold up against contact in the pocket. A skilled, high-floor passer whose ultimate ceiling will be determined by the degree of his physical growth and improvement in athleticism and movement skills.”
