It’s still early in the college football season but there are already several teams proving to be among the best. That includes the Georgia Bulldogs , who analyst Paul Finebaum believes is ahead of everyone else, including the Texas Longhorns .
During an appearance on SportsCenter , Paul Finebaum played a game called “Paul-in or Paul-out” that played on his name to share what teams he’s all-in or all-out on this season. As far as Georgia is concerned, he sees the Bulldogs as a notch above everyone else in the field.

“I’m Paul-in, and I know that is saying a great deal after watching Texas play yesterday, but I feel like Georgia is a notch above,” Finebaum said. “They’ll get each other in the middle of October and we can settle that. By the way, there’s a chance Georgia and Texas could play three times this year in October, in Atlanta in December, and some time, probably for the national championship. I think they are that elite but I think Georgia is in a class of its own and that’s why I am all-in.”
Through two games, Georgia is 2-0 and outscoring their opponents 82-6. That includes a neutral site win over the Clemson Tigers , so it’s not a schedule that’s been strictly against overmatched competition either.

Of course, Texas has also been excellent this season. After coming into the year with high expectations set for the Longhorns, they’ve lived up to them so far. That includes convincingly beating the Michigan Wolverines in The Big House.
Still, as Finebaum explained, Georgia and Texas will have plenty of time to prove themselves on the field this season.
Paul Finebaum: Texas ‘separated itself’ as Georgia’s biggest threat in SEC
While Texas isn’t the only other contender in the SEC, Paul Finebaum did explain that it appears the Longhorns have separated themselves as the biggest threat to the Georgia Bulldogs.
“You look at who else is on the dance card for the Bulldogs and Texas is the one that sticks out,” Finebaum said. “Don’t forget that Alabama is in two weeks in Tuscaloosa but after watching Alabama play last night and after watching Texas yesterday, I don’t think those two are comparable at the moment. Texas just seems to have separated itself from everyone.”
Nationally, it still seems like Texas has become the biggest threat to the Bulldogs, with questions still to be answered from Big Ten teams like Ohio State and Oregon .
“We don’t know about Ohio State yet because they haven’t played the competition, but certainly Oregon and Alabama are the two other teams in contention right now,” Finebaum concluded.
Next, Georgia travels to Lexington to play the Kentucky Wildcats in what will be the Bulldogs’ first true road test of the season.
