Few programs in the country are doing name, image, and likeness as well or as high-profile as the LSU Tigers . As such, Amazon Prime Video has now released their docuseries following the biggest names in Baton Rouge during the beginning of the NIL era.

‘The Money Game’, the six-part series that details six athletes at Louisiana State University, dropped on Tuesday. The all-access look accounts for the impact of NIL, both the positive and negative, on these athletes that must now deal with the all-new landscape of the collegiate level to start this decade.

Below is the trailer for the docuseries that came out last month :

“The Money Game is a compelling six-part docuseries that chronicles the introduction of the groundbreaking decision by the NCAA to grant NIL (name, image and likeness) rights to student-athletes, permitting them – for the first time ever – to earn endorsement compensation while maintaining their amateur athletic status,” described Amazon Prime Video.

Shaquille O’Neal is the executive producer of the series after he himself was an athlete at LSU in the early 1990s. As for the athletes, it highlights Livvy Dunne ( Gymnastics ), Jayden Daniels ( Football ), Angel Reese and Flau’jae Johnson ( Women’s Basketball ) along with Alia Armstrong (Track & Field) and Trace Young ( Men’s Basketball ). Certain coaches, personnel, and experts also appear in the show.

The Tigers reportedly received $1 million for the rights to the show with each player receiving a ‘talent fee’. Now, with the release, LSU hosted a gold carpet event last week to preview the debut episode inside the Pete Maravich Assembly Center.

Per On3’s NIL 100 , LSU has had some of the most profitable players in all of college sports. The current rankings have four current or future Tigers in the Top-20 with the respective valuations with Dunne (No. 2 at $3.9 million ), Bryce Underwood (No. 17 at $1.3 million ), Garrett Nussmeier (No. 18 at $1.3 million ), and then Johnson (No. 9 at $1.2 million ).

Dunne has the second-highest overall valuation behind only Shedeur Sanders (Colorado Football) and is No. 1 in gymnastics by a wide margin. Johnson is then No. 2 in women’s basketball after only Paige Bueckers (UConn) while Nussmeier is No. 14 in all of college football . As for Underwood, the No. 1 prospect and a quarterback in the 2025 recruiting class , he’s the highest-projected earner in all of high school sports .

While her valuation is undisclosed, Armstrong also rates highly in women’s track .

That’s not even including the earnings of Daniels and Reese who have since gone pro . Daniels’ valuation was at $2.2 million , good for top-five in his sport and Top-10 nationally, before being the No. 2 overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft by the Washington Commanders. Reese’s valuation was then at $1.8 million , good for second in women’s basketball and Top-10 nationally, before being the No. 7 pick in the 2024 WNBA Draft by the Chicago Sky.

Not only have these athletes been capitalizing on their earnings, though, but they’ve also experienced a ton of success in their respective sports over the span of this documentary.

Reese and Johnson were coming off their program’s first-ever national championship in the year prior before eventually getting back to the Elite Eight last year. Dunne was then part of the first-ever national title with her own team last season. As for Daniels, he was part of team success on the field but also won the highest personal achievement in collegiate football as the recipient of The Heisman Trophy . Armstrong was also accomplished in her own right over her own five-year career too.

LSU and its athletes have been earning and taking advantage of this space as much as any other school in the nation. We can all see how those benefits have come to be with the release of ‘The Money Game’ as of today on Amazon Prime Video.
