Parker Kligerman stepping away from full-time racing after 2024 season

After the 2024 season, Parker Kligerman will no longer race full-time in NASCAR . The Xfinity Series driver is calling it a career. Kligerman is set to make the Xfinity Series Playoffs for one more run at a championship.

Parker Kligerman, 34, entered his first-ever Xfinity Series race in 2009 at Kansas. During his career, he has 47 top-10 finishes in 109 races with a pole award. During his Truck Series career, Kligerman won three races with two poles and 53 top-10s in 117 races.

Of course, he had starts in the Cup Series as well on a part-time basis, reaching the peak of stock car racing in North America.

Today, the Big Machine Racing driver released a statement on his decision. He also shared the news on his podcast, The Money Lap.

“When I was nine years old, my family got cable,” Parker Kligerman said in the statement . “Naturally, I immediately found a channel called SpeedVision, where I saw men in multicolored pajamas, with sweaty faces and stern looks – er, racing – for the first time. Right then, I knew; I want to do that! I will be a professional race car driver.

“And for the better part of a decade and a half, I have been just that. The fire-retardant pajamas, sweaty face, and all. It’s been 22 years since I first begged and borrowed my way into a go-kart (Really, my mom couldn’t take any more begging) and started a journey that, for an endless amount of reasons, should never have made it further than go-karts. Let alone afforded me multiple chances, a career, and possibly a purpose.”

Parker Kligerman didn’t have an easy road

Over the years, Parker Kligerman had to make concessions in his racing career. Pick up a one-off ride whenever you can because it might lead to more rides, maybe even a full-time gig.

After two full-time seasons in 2011 and 2012 with Brad Keselowski Racing in the Truck Series, Kligerman moved up to the Xfinity Series. That first season with Kyle Busch Motorsports earned him 9th overall in the standings.

That led to a full-time ride with Swan Racing in the Cup Series…until Swan sold off both of their teams after just a few weeks in the season. Kligerman would not have a full-time ride again in a national series until 2023. But he never gave up.

Coming off a P2 finish at Atlanta, Parker Kligerman has nine races to win an Xfinity Series race and earn himself a championship before he hangs up his helmet for full-time racing.
