South Carolina and LSU are less than 24 hours away from a noon showdown at Williams-Brice Stadium and the injury status of the two teams is already pretty clear.

The Gamecocks already reported on Thursday that offensive lineman Jakai Moore, cornerback Emory Floyd, and linebacker Andrew Colasurdo are out for Saturday’s game.

On Friday, wide receiver Gage Larvadain and offensive lineman Trovon Baugh were listed as probable, which is the same as their status from Thursday.

Beamer last spoke about injuries on Thursday evening during his call-in show, which was around 26 hours before the most recent update.

“Yeah, feel pretty good,” Beamer said Thursday before the new update. “Gage had been battling some injuries since August, really, he should be fine. Tro got rolled up on during the game against Kentucky and battled through that a little bit and I think he should be fine and then we’ll see on Emory. But we’re in pretty good shape and have had a good week of practice and hopefully we can stay healthy between now and Saturday.”

The next availability update will come in the form of a final report 90 minutes before kickoff, around 10:30 am in this case.

Floyd, a reserve at cornerback, has missed the first two games of the season.

Moore, who was set to be the Gamecocks’ “swing man” due to his ability to play tackle and guard, will be out for a while. That’s also the case for reserve offensive lineman AJ Parks, though he wasn’t listed on the report.

Redshirt freshman safety Zahbari Sandy is out for the season after suffering a knee injury during spring practice.

LSU has been dealing with major injuries so far this season, none bigger than the losses of running back John Emory Jr. and defensive tackle Jacobian Guillory for the season.

The SEC recently approved a player availability injury report system for football, men’s and women’s basketball and baseball.

SEC school personnel must submit availability reports three days before each football game, with daily updates leading to a final report 90 minutes before game time. For basketball and baseball, reports are filed the night before, with an update on game day.

According to the SEC, penalties for inaccurate or late reports will range from $25,000 to $100,000 for football and anywhere from $15,000 to $25,000 for basketball and baseball.

When schools submit injury reports, players will be designated as available, probable, doubtful, and questionable before game day. On game day, designations will be available, game-time decision or out. The model follows injury reports similar to the NFL.
