“Sources: LSU WR Chris Hilton Jr. expected to miss 3rd straight game,” Thamel said.

Chris Hilton has battled injuries for the past few seasons and has yet to appear in a game this year. He has flashed explosiveness when healthy.

Hilton came into the season opener against USC questionable. He missed that game, as well as last week’s game against Nicholls.

Ahead of the season, Hilton was listed as a starter on LSU’s depth chart. The past two years for the Tigers, he’s hauled in 22 catches for 415 yards and three touchdowns. His career high for receiving yards in a single game is 81, when he did that against Kansas State in the 2022 Texas Bowl.

When healthy, Hilton is one of the fastest players in college football and he’s expected to be a major weapon in the LSU passing attack. This is his fourth year in Baton Rouge.

A dynamic athlete coming out of high school, Hilton was a two-sport standout at Zachary High School (Zachary, Louisiana). As a junior in 2019, Hilton hauled in 43 catches for 846 yards and 11 touchdowns. As a sophomore, he caught a screen pass and took it 80-yards for a game-winning touchdown in Zachary’s 5A state title victory in 2018 over West Monroe. As a senior on the track, he claimed the 5A state title in both the 400-meters and the high jump. Hilton also won the state championship in indoor track as a sophomore and freshman.

A lot of it is the type of offense they’re running now with [LaNorris] Sellers at quarterback; [Raheim] Sanders , the transfer from Arkansas; Joshua Simon at tight end.”
