Alabama On300 WR commit Lotzeir Brooks makes SportsCenter Top 10 with leaping touchdown catch

Trailing 7-6 to Mainland (N.J.), the Millville (N.J.) Thunderbolts just needed a bit of a spark.

On300 four-star Alabama wide receiver commit Lotzeir Brooks provided it.

Brooks scored four touchdowns — one on defense — en route to Millville’s 40-7 win, handing Mainland its first loss since 2022.

Brooks’ first touchdown catch was a highlight reel play, but his third score took the phrase ‘highlight reel play’ to a new level. His spectacular leaping grab was ESPN SportsCenter’s #SCTop10 No. 2 play on Friday night.

Earlier this month, Brooks set the New Jersey high school state record for career receiving touchdowns (54), breaking a mark that had stood for 11 years.

The record-breaking score came during the Battle at the Beach game between Millville and Holy Spirit. Brooks’ first ever touchdown in high school came as a freshman in the same event.

Lotzeir Brooks Recruit Profile

Brooks is the nation’s No. 430 overall prospect, No. 69 wide receiver and No. 13 recruit from New Jersey in the 2025 cycle according to the On3 Industry Ranking — a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

On3 is significantly higher on Brooks than the rest of the recruiting industry. He ranks No. 100 nationally and No. 14 among wide receivers in the 2025 On300 .

“This is a guy who is really a pure football player, and has a rare skill set for a receiver of his size,” said On3 Director of Scouting and Rankings Charles Power. “Typically, with receivers at that size, you don’t see the combination of high-end ball skills plus playmaking ability with the ball in his hands, and he shows both. When you take stock of his junior year, it’s not hard to see why Alabama made him a priority. He’s a guy who can move around the formation and work all areas.”
