Shedeur Sanders refused to shake hands with Brayden Fowler-Nicolosi following Colorado’s 28-9 win over Colorado State Saturday night.

The rivalry obviously did not lose any intensity after last year’s double overtime thriller. But Sanders was pretty adamant about not shaking Fowler-Nicolosi’s hand, based on the latter’s comments.

For reference, here’s what Fower-Nicolosi and wide receiver Tory Horton said prior to the game, which seemingly set Sanders off.

“Yeah, they came out with that attitude and thought it was going to be a cakewalk,” Fowler-Nicolosi said. “They saw the reports, 27.5 points, or whatever it was, and they got a rude awakening real quick. And I think it goes to show that the hype, the media train, all that, it only gets you so far. At the end of the day, you have to line up 11 guys against our 11 guys, and we’ll find out who wants it more, and we’ll see how far Instagram followers gets them.”

Safe to say, Sanders didn’t appreciate those comments and made it clear on the field. Now sometimes, athletes put that beef aside and shake hands anyway.

But there was clearly no love lost between the quarterbacks and the programs. Heck, Deion Sanders and Jay Norvell don’t get along.

“We all came here to play football, so end of the day, the millions of the followers and fans that they produced and got and celebrities that jumped on their side because of who Deion Sanders is, at the day Deon Sanders ain’t playing,” Horton said. “It’s those players playing, so those players back up what they speak about.”

Sanders had another banner night throwing the ball though. He had 310 yards and four touchdowns with 100 yards and two of those touchdowns going to Travis Hunter.

For comparison, Nicolosi-Fowler threw for 209 yards and two interceptions. Justin Marshall was responsible for the lone touchdown for the Rams, running for 54 yards on the ground.

They’re breeding some asshole players at Colorado. Great job, Deion.
