Texas safety commit Jonah Williams is new 5-star in updated 2025 On300

With the summer in the rearview mirror and football season well underway, On3 has updated its recruiting rankings for the 2025 class. Galveston (Texas) Ball safety and Texas commit Jonah Williams is the No. 16 overall prospect and a new five-star in the 2025 On300.

The latest edition of On3’s 2025 rankings features 18 five-star prospects, up three from the previous update in July. Of those 18 five-stars, 15 are committed to college programs. Evaluations will continue as the high school season continues.

The 6-foot-3.25, 206-pound Williams committed to in-state Texas on Aug. 24, continuing a big run of late-summer recruiting wins for Steve Sarkisian and Co. Williams is one of three industry five-stars in the Longhorns’ 2025 class.

“I’m really impressed with Coach Sarkisian and the method he’s beginning to accomplish things. I think all the players are very in tune to what he’s trying to teach there. I’m very impressed with that,” Williams told On3 upon making his decision public .

Williams is one of eight On3 top-100 recruits committed to Texas this cycle. The Longhorns currently own the No. 5 class in the nation, according to the On3 Industry Team Recruiting Rankings .
