On3 has updated its football prospect rankings for the 2025 cycle . This rankings release marks the fourth update this year and is driven by early senior season evaluations.

The senior season is a pivotal evaluation point in On3’s rankings process. The final prep season proves to be among the best indicators of ability as a college football player, manifested by the NFL Draft. On3 has taken in a considerable amount of early season game film in the process of constructing this update. We’ve also begun tracking production with the understanding that it’s still early in the season and some prospects have played fewer games than others. Movement in this update represents an early snapshot of what we’ve seen so far this fall. Given that this update was finalized last week, nearly all games played over the weekend will be considered in the next update. With the limited senior season sample in mind, most of the moves are incremental in nature. The following updates will also focus heavily on the remainder of the season.
Our goal is to assess a prospect’s long-term potential in college football, as manifested by the NFL draft. We now have 18 prospects rated as five-stars and will finish with 32 five-stars every cycle.
Let’s get into some of the storylines surrounding this update.
Underwood holds at No. 1, movement within the top ten
LSU quarterback commit Bryce Underwood maintains his hold on the No. 1 overall spot in the On300. Underwood, who debuted as On3’s top 2025 prospect in March of 2023, continues to look like the top quarterback in the cycle to this point in the senior season. Given the talent and skills he’s shown to this point, Underwood now holds a rating of 99 from On3, with the rest of the five-stars having 98 ratings.
At 6-foot-4, 214 pounds with elite arm downfield talent and plus athleticism, Underwood looks like the most well-rounded physical talent at the position in 2025. He’s also one of the most accomplished signal callers on Friday night. The two-time state champion broke Michigan’s all-time career passing touchdown record (125) on Friday night.
Three games into his senior season, Underwood continues to look like the top prospect in the cycle. He showed dynamic rushing ability in week one and followed that up by throwing four touchdowns with just one incompletion in week two and accounting for six touchdowns in week three. Underwood, who is one of the youngest top prospects in the cycle, continues to show improvement and has looked dominant thus far.
After Underwood, Notre Dame offensive tackle Will Black (No. 2), LSU cornerback commit DJ Pickett (No.3), Oregon wide receiver commit Dakorien Moore (No. 4), uncommitted defensive lineman Elijah Griffin (No. 5) and Tennessee offensive line commit David Sanders (No. 6) hold at their previously-ranked spots.
Georgia EDGE commit Isaiah Gibson moves into the top ten, checking in at No. 7. The Warner Robins (Ga.) High standout continues to show an elite combination of physical traits and athleticism as a 6-foot-3.5, 265-pound pass rusher.
Alabama interior offensive line commit Michael Carroll (No. 9) also moves into the top ten following an outstanding start to his senior season at IMG Academy. The 6-foot-6, 315-pounder is an outstanding mover and highly physical .
Three new 5-stars
Three prospects earn their fifth star in this update – Texas EDGE commit Lance Jackson (No. 13), Texas safety pledge Jonah Williams (No. 16) and LSU running back commit Harlem Berry (No. 17).
Lance Jackson looks outstanding to start his senior season at Texarkana (Texas) Pleasant Grove. The 6-foot-5.25, 270-pounder has always been a ‘ first-off the bus ‘ type, but he’s shown continued improvement as a pass rusher this season. Jackson spent much of his time split between tight end and defensive end. The early On3 Outlier has been largely unblockable with five sacks to this point in the season. The Longhorn commit has shown impressive bend, active hands and eye-popping closing speed. The ability to quickly change direction and corral ball carriers in the backfield is notable, particularly for a prospect of his size. We’ve seen Jackson blow up plays, despite being double and even triple-teamed. The physical traits and ability to win with speed and power bode well for his long-term projection.
Jonah Williams entered this update right on the cusp of five-star status and gets the nod after a strong start to his senior season. Long considered one of the top pure athletes in the 2025 cycle, Williams continues to show game-breaking ability in all three phases on Friday nights. The 6-foot-3.5, 206-pounder has outstanding range and ball skills in coverage. He brings the athleticism and coordination of a top defensive back in the frame of a linebacker. The athleticism and versatile skill set gives Williams the makings of being a dangerous moveable chess piece in the back half of Texas’ defense.
Like Williams, Harlem Berry has long been flirting with five-star status for On3. Berry, who has long been ranked as On3’s top back in the cycle, continues to separate himself from rest of the running back crop nationally with his combination of dynamic athleticism, advanced rushing instincts and elite all-purpose ability. Given the current positional value, we haven’t seen a ton of five-star running backs in recent cycles. With that said, Berry has shown a truly versatile skill set as a home-run threat both as a ball-carrier and pass-catcher. The 5-foot-10, 182-pounder will certainly need to add 15 to 20 pounds to his frame, but his skill set is not dissimilar from smaller backs like Jamaal Charles , Reggie Bush and more recently, Jahmyr Gibbs .
Upward movers at quarterback
The senior season is particularly key in evaluating quarterback prospects. Several signal callers outside of the five-star range have caught our eye early on.
Texas A&M commit Husan Longstreet (No. 23) missed some time early in the season while working back from an off-season injury, but has settled in for Corona (Calif.) Centennial, showing truly some of the best arm talent in high school football, regardless of class. The 6-foot-0.5, 195-pounder has put more high-difficulty, tight-window throws on film than any other quarterback we’ve watched early on this fall. Longstreet has also flashed the ability to threaten defenses with his legs as a shifty runner in the open field.
Alabama pledge Keelon Russell (No. 25) didn’t start his senior season until September 7, but immediately impressed while dicing up top competition. Russell looks to have carried over the improvement he showed in the offseason over to the padded setting. His pocket feel and movement stands out. Russell has done an excellent job of handling pressure, sliding around in the pocket before quickly reseting and delivering well-thrown passes downfield. He’s getting the ball out quickly and has shown increased playmaking ability. His Duncanville (Texas) High team is an overwhelming favorite to make a deep playoff run, so we should have many more opportunities to watch Russell in big spots this fall. With that said, he’s off to a great start.
Notre Dame commit Deuce Knight (No. 32) and USC commit Julian Lewis (No. 44) round out signal callers in the top 50. Knight continues to show his high physical upside while Lewis is operating a dangerous offense, doing a great job quickly distributing passes to playmakers.
Mississippi State commit KaMario Taylor (No. 71), Tennessee pledge George MacIntyre (No. 87), North Carolina commit Bryce Baker (No. 99) and Miami pledge Luke Nickel (No. 102) hold within the top 125. Taylor in particular has impressed with his playmaking ability and natural athleticism.
Iowa State commit Alex Manske (No. 132) continues to move up within the On300 after showing impressive arm talent and athleticism early on.
Two signal callers make their debuts in the On300 – Liberty commit Ethan Houck (No. 259) and Cal commit Jaron-Keawe Sagapolutele (No. 288). Houck is the top-rated Group of Five quarterback commit for On3. The 6-foot-4, 205-pounder is a strong-armed, gifted athlete. The Brunswick (Md.) High signal caller has high-end physical traits and has been impressive early on as a senior. Sagapolutele continues his ascent after a breakout showing at the Elite 11 Finals in June. He’s put up gaudy passing stats to start his senior season and has shown high-end downfield arm strength.
Additional big risers
Texas commit Elijah Barnes (No. 33) is now the top-ranked linebacker prospect inside the On300. At 6-foot-1, 230-pounds with sub-11.0 second speed in the 100 meters, Barnes combines high-end physical traits, with the instincts, physicality and effort level coveted at the position. He’s played at a very high level for Dallas (Texas) Skyline to start his senior season.
Uncommitted receiver Jerome Myles (No. 34) saw one of the biggest upward moves within the On300. The 6-foot-3, 215-pounder was dominant to start his senior campaign, roasting the IMG Academy secondary in an early season win. Myles, who broke the Utah state record in the 100 meters (10.36 seconds) in the off-season, showed a well-rounded skill set with the ability to threaten all levels of the field and win at the catch point. Following a knee injury, Myles’ status for the rest of the season at Draper (Utah) Corner Canyon remains unknown. USC is the favorite for Myles according to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine .
The highest debut in the On300 belongs to Seffner (Fla.) Armwood linebacker Kellen Wiley (No. 112). The 6-foot-3.5, 220-pounder has exploded as a senior. He pairs a massive frame and elite length with supreme physicality and striking ability. Wiley has added offers from Miami, Louisville and Alabama as a senior and looks to be a clear ascending prospect.
