Jordan Love, Jaire Alexander injury updates: Packers inactives revealed vs. Vikings

Green Bay Packers quarterback Jordan Love will return to the starting lineup on Sunday against the Minnesota Vikings. Love has missed the Packers’ past two games after suffering an MCL strain in Green Bay’s Week 1 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles.

While Love will return to the field, the team will lose cornerback Jaire Alexander, who is out due to a quad/groin injury. For the Packers’ complete list of inactive players, look below.

Before leaving the game against the Eagles, Love completed 17-of-34 pass attempts for 260 yards and two touchdowns while throwing one interception. Now, Love will look to pick back up where he left off.

According to the NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero, Love will wear a knee brace against the Vikings.

“QB Jordan Love is expected to wear a brace on his left knee today against the [Vikings] — his first start since suffering an MCL sprain in the Sept. 8 opener,” Pelissero wrote. “Sources say Love took the majority of practice reps and looked better and better as the week went on. Go time.”

Of course, if Love tweaked his knee again on Sunday, the Packers should feel comfortable resting him. Since Love’s injury, the Packers are 2-0. Malik Willis started both games in Love’s absence. In his two starts, Willis tallied 324 passing yards and two scores while throwing zero interceptions.

Nonetheless, Packers fans hope to see their beloved QB look healthy on Sunday. After all, the Packers signed Love to a four-year, $220 million contract extension this summer that put him in a tie as the highest-paid player in NFL history.

The Packers and Minnesota Vikings will square off at 1 p.m. ET on Sunday. The game will air live on CBS.
