In Texas A&M ‘s 41-10 win over Missouri on Saturday, offensive lineman Ar’maj Reed-Adams temporarily left the game with an injury. Fellow offensive lineman TJ Shanahan has missed the last two weeks for the Aggies after suffering an apparent lower-leg injury against Bowling Green on Sept. 21.

Despite the setback, Texas A&M is 3-0 in conference play and riding high after its first win over a ranked opponent this season. On Monday, Aggies head coach Mike Elko provided an injury update on his two linemen, along with a general evaluation of his team’s health.

“Reed-Adams is fine. He came back in the game and was not an issue,” Elko said . “TJ, we hope to have back this week or at the very latest, next week. Whether or not he’s functionally ready to play enough, we’ll find out as we get closer to Mississippi State .

“Outside of that, we’re in a really good spot. I think we have the long-term things that aren’t going to resolve themselves but there’s not really a lot of short-term things that we’re dealing with right now.”

Texas A&M has a bye this week, which will provide its players with extra time to recover from any lingering ailments. Further, it’ll give the Aggies more time to celebrate their stunning win over Missouri.

A statement win for Texas A&M

It was a dominant effort by the Aggies, who tallied over twice as many offensive yards as the Tigers. In the win, Texas A&M quarterback Conner Weigman completed 18-of-his-22 pass attempts for 276 yards without throwing an interception.

Texas A&M’s ground game was phenomenal, as well. The team amassed 236 rushing yards and five touchdowns against the Tigers. Elko was elated with his team’s performance.

“Proud of our guys,” Elko said after the game. “We challenged them to come out and play a complete game. I thought we did that. It was a very good Missouri team, and we knew we were going to have to play start to finish. Started fast. We stayed on them. Made a lot of stops on defense in the first half. Really kept the game in rhythm.

“This was a six-game stretch for sure. That was a challenge with them coming off the bye week and us having played four Power Five teams at this point. I thought our kids responded to that challenge.”

Texas A&M will play again on Oct. 19 when it squares off against Mississippi State at 4:15 p.m. ET. The game will air live on the SEC Network.
