Davante Adams missed the past three games for the Raiders with a hamstring injury. Now that he is with the New York Jets, Adams isn’t expected to miss much time, if any time at all.

ESPN insider Adam Schefter provided the latest injury news on Davante Adams Tuesday morning on ESPN First Take.

“I believe he’s very close. I wouldn’t be surprised if he were back this week,” Adam Schefter said. “Obviously they’ll have to see how he’s doing, and he’s gotta get acclimated. There’s an acclimation period, so maybe they wait another week. But I don’t know that he’s going to miss more than a game, if he misses that.”

Davante Adams was traded to the Jets on Tuesday for a third-round pick, which can become a second-round pick, depending on how he performs. He will not be reunited with Aaron Rodgers after the two starred together for years in Green Bay.

Adams caught 18 passes for 209 yards and a touchdown in three games this season, prior to suffering the hamstring injury. He may have a little extra motivation to get back on the field now that he is with the Jets and not with the struggling Raiders.

“It won’t be long before he’s playing for the New York Jets,” Schefter said. “When he suffered that injury it was thought to be a two-to-three week injury. He’s missed three games. So we’re right in the range of where he would be coming back, whether that’s this week or next week.”

Davante Adams and Aaron Rodgers were one of the NFL’s most dynamic quarterback-wide receiver duos during their time together with the Green Bay Packers. During an eight-year stretch, Adams caught 669 passes from Rodgers for 8,121 yards and 73 touchdowns, along with connecting 72 times in the postseason for 910 yards and eight scores.

During that time frame, Rodgers took home three NFL Most Valuable Player awards and Adams was named a First-Team All-Pro twice. The two combined for 12 Pro Bowl selections during their time together as teammates for the Packers. They will now look to replicate those accolades and production during their reunion in New York.
