Just over three months since signing with the franchise, Jamal Adams is no longer with the Tennessee Titans.

Per ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the Titans and Adams agreed on his release from the team as of this morning.

“Titans are honoring the request of former Pro-Bowl safety Jamal Adams for his release, per source. Adams is healthy and looking forward to his next opportunity,” Schefter tweeted . “Kevin Conner and Robert Brown of @UniSportsMgmt confirmed his release.”

Adams appeared in three games, including one start, this season for Tennessee. In those outings, he recorded just four tackles. He did not play in the opener but was in for the second, third, and fourth game prior to the team’s bye week.

However, ahead of their first game back this weekend, the Titans had placed Adams on the non-football injury/reserve list, which now looks to be a move in connection to his apparent request for his release from the team. Brian Callahan addressed that designated status shortly while speaking to the media yesterday.

“Yeah, some things we’re working through that are still kind of ongoing,” said Callahan on Wednesday. “I’ll let that one be for now.”

This comes following Tennessee agreeing to terms with Adams on a one-year deal back in July.

Adams had spent the seven season priors with the New York Jets and the Seattle Seahawks. He started in all 80 games with the two franchises while posting 494 tackles, 21.5 sacks, seven forced fumbles with four recoveries, and four interceptions. One of those recoveries and one of those picks went back for defensive touchdowns. That has earned him three All-Pro honors, including one as a First Team in 2019, and three Pro Bowls, each of which came in consecutive seasons from 2018 to 2020.

Before that career as a pro , Adams was the sixth overall pick in the 2017 NFL Draft out of LSU .

Adams will now be available again for some team to sign for their secondary this season after a short stay in Music City.

Adams was a Jets number1 pick and cried about his contract all the time. The Jets got a haul from the Seahawks for him. Too bad they didn’t do much with it.
