Dylan Raiola reveals favorite college football quarterbacks to watch

The best quarterbacks out there often watch other quarterbacks around their skill level or higher, hoping to take little bits and pieces of their game to fold into their own. For Nebraska quarterback Dylan Raiola , there are plenty of options to choose from.

Raiola was asked this week which college quarterbacks he likes watching the most and he provided a thoughtful answer that revealed a few different options.

Chief among them was Oregon quarterback Dillon Gabriel , who is coming off a huge upset of No. 2 Ohio State .

“I mean Dillon Gabriel’s impressive, just what he does with the ball,” Dylan Raiola said. “I’m always pulling for him. You know, he’s a Polynesian quarterback, so love watching him succeed.”

Gabriel has proven one of the nation’s most successful quarterbacks, a dual-threat prospect who has used his legs to keep defenses honest as he works them over the top with his arm.

Having that kind of ability to tap into as a learning resource is huge for Dylan Raiola.

Gabriel has already thrown for 1,790 yards and 13 touchdowns this season, against just three interceptions. He’s also run for 103 yards and four scores. Most impressive work.

But there are other college quarterbacks that Raiola likes to watch, too.

“There’s so many great quarterbacks,” he said. “ Jalen Milroe , Cam Ward . There’s a lot of talent in college football. It’s a lot of fun to watch.”

Sensing a theme? Raiola is a big fan of true dual-threat quarterbacks that can just as easily make plays with their legs as with their arms when things break down.

Both Milroe and Ward have done that repeatedly; Milroe as one of the most dynamic athletes at any position and Ward as a Houdini act at times.

In any case, Dylan Raiola is watching and paying attention, gleaning anything he can. That kind of attention to detail and focus on the greats can only pay dividends in the long run.
