Funding awarded for two local road improvement projects
( KAIR)--A combined $26 million is awarded for 33 road improvement projects in Kansas communities, including two in the local area. According to a release from the office of Kansas Governor Laura Kelly, the selected projects will receive a portion of the total funding through the Kansas Department of Transportation's City Connecting Link Improvement Program( CCLIP).

Furniture Amnesty Day set for July 26
This year’s Furniture Amnesty Day event will take place starting at 8 a.m. Friday, July 26 in City Park. The City of Manhattan has announced that it is a free community event that gives people the opportunity to donate or pick up used furniture at no cost. Anyone can participate. Boys & Girls Club of Manhattan held a ribbon cutting for new Early Learning Center
MANHATTAN, Kan. (WIBW) - The Boys and Girls Club of Manhattan held a ribbon cutting today for its new Early Learning Center. The new center will serve kids from 6 weeks to 5 years old. This adds to the other 13 locations across Manhattan and Wamego, which serve elementary to 18-year-olds. There are 9 classrooms and the club is licensed for 156 kids who will participate in fun activities to prepare them for school. Club members said this facility is crucial to the region.
