Manhattan Boys & Girls Club Early Learning Center
( Photos by Manhattan Boys & Girls Club ) The grand opening for the new Early learning Center and 30th anniversary of the Manhattan Boys & Girls Club were celebrated with a ribbon cutting on Thursday. The new facility can serve 156 Infant through Pre-K children. It contains nine classrooms.
Clay Center Elks 1st Annual Hardship Tour to Collect Funds for Hammond Family
The Clay Center Elks’ Lodge No. 2253 is holding their first annual Bikes, Blues, and BBQ Hardship Tour. The event will take place at the Clay Center Elks’ Lodge on July 26 from 4-10 p.m. The Hardship Tour’s main event will be a Bike Show with the crowd favorite winning a $100 cash prize. Entry for the show is $10. The event will also feature a pulled pork meal in exchange for a $10 donation and music from blues artist Rick Stanley.
MHA Receives LIHTC Award for Sunflower Flats
Manhattan Housing Authority announced that they have been awarded a Low-Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) for the development of Sunflower Flats. This new project marks a significant milestone in a commitment to providing quality affordable housing in Manhattan. Sunflower Flats will offer modern, energy-efficient apartments designed with the needs of the community in mind.
JCHS alumni stones are put in place
On Friday, members of the Junction City High School Alumni Association placed alumni stones in front of Junction City High School. In the future, the stones will feature aluminum plaques, which will be engraved and installed by current students, of prominent alumni and those who were memorialized at the former high school.
