MINNESOTA WOMAN SUING BOAR’S HEAD OVER LISTERIA OUTBREAK
(Coon Rapids, MN) — A Minnesota woman has filed suit against the Boar’s Head company after becoming ill with listeria. The woman from Coon Rapids says she was visiting family in Florida in May when she bought some sliced deli meat at a grocery store. She became ill after returning to Minnesota and testing determined she had listeria. She was hospitalized for several days and had to take antibiotics for more than a week after being released. The woman’s lawyer says she was 35 weeks pregnant and nearly lost her baby due to the illness.

Shawn Neisen, an NDSU doctoral student, recently received the Advocate for Choral Excellence Award from the American Choral Directors Association of Minnesota. Neisen was nominated by ACDA-MN member, and choir director at Minnesota State Community & Technical College, Laura Quaintance, who is also the ACDA-MN Northwest District. Quaintance says Neisen was nominated for his generous commitment to the choral world.
