Torpy Park welcomes dozens for 12th annual Minocqua Island Swim Challenge
MINOCQUA, Wis. (WJFW) - This weekend, people from all across the state flooded into Torpy Park for the 12th annual Minocqua Island Swim challenge. The event features several heats of two challenging races, a 400-meter swim and a one-mile open water swim. Despite the competition in each race the ultimate goal was more than just to come in first, but to help support the Oneida County Dive Team. Race Director and Dive Team member Laura Fuhrman says the event has been a great way to connect with the community.

Woman to serve 15 years in fentanyl-related Oneida County death
RHINELANDER – An Oneida County woman will spend 15 years in prison and another 15 years extended supervision for the 2022 death of Kyle Polinski, 29 of Rhinelander. Polinski’s death was determined to have been caused by fentanyl toxicity, a substance in drugs sold to him by Jasmine Lariviere.
