ONEIDA — A new convenience store will break ground this week in the Town of Oneida.

Oneida Retail Enterprise, will begin construction on a new Mobil One Stop gas station and convenience store across the current at 790 Outagamie County EE, on July 19, according to a news release by the company. Construction is expected to take 11 months.

The new store is an upgrade and replacement to the current location, which is across the street and 35 years old. The improvements include a walk-in cooler, bean-to-cup coffee machines and the first Oneida Retail self-checkout.

"We have worked extremely hard to get to this point," Debra Powless said, general manager for the company. "We can't wait for our community and staff to experience the best Oneida has to offer."

The company operates seven convenience stores and three smoke shops, all located within the Oneida Reservation, and employs over 100 full-time staff.
