VERNON — Golden Kronos with driver Jimmy Whittemore captured the $7,500 featured trot on Friday night at Vernon Downs. Bourbon Express (John MacDonald) jumped to the lead and led to the quarter in :28.2 as Golden Kronos ($13.20) tucked in the pocket. Bourbon Express slowed things way down with a :31.2 second quarter and was first to the half in :59.3. He still controlled things leading to three-quarters in 1:28.2.
Mobile operation units to be deployed in Rome
ROME, NY (WUTR/WFXV/WPNY) — The City of Rome has announced that Oneida County will be deploying mobile operations units to help those recovering from Tuesday’s tornado. County Executive Anthony Picente and Rome Mayor Jeffrey Lanigan announced on Friday, July 19 that they will be deploying two units to parts of Rome. The two officials say that the units will be deployed to help residents get access to essential health and human services.
