Booth reservation deadline for Sept. 28 Art Mart is July 15
CANANDAIGUA — The Ontario County Arts Council will present its inaugural Art Mart, an arts and crafts marketplace, Sept. 28 at the American Legion, 454 N. Main St. The event is a new opportunity for vendors to sell original arts and crafts of finished work, materials, tools, books, new work, old work, overstocks, seconds, off-season items, and more. Proceeds benefit the OCAC scholarship and grants programs.
Weather Alert: Tornado Watch for Monroe, Ontario Counties and Surrounding Areas
Conditions that could produce a tornado locally are there on Wednesday as tropical storm Beryl’s remnants move into the Rochester region. The majority of New York’s upstate counties, including Monroe, Orleans, Genesee, Wyoming, Livingston, Ontario, and Wayne counties, are under a tornado watch, according to the National Weather Service. The watch is in force until nine o’clock at night.

Kimberly Schunk, a resident of Geneseo who is certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center, worked at Honeoye Family Practice for seven years prior to relocating to Illinois. Most recently, she was with a clinic in Barrington, Ill.

With heavy rain expected, Ontario County makes sandbags available to Canandaigua residents
CANANDAIGUA — In response to anticipated rainfall Wednesday, July 10, Ontario County is making sandbags available for city of Canandaigua residents to pick up. Starting July 9, sandbags will be available for pickup at the Ontario County Safety Training Facility, 2914 County Road 48, Canandaigua. Motorists are asked to drive to the back of the access road and the sandbags will be adjacent to the fire training burn building.
NY weather update: Tornado warning issued for New York Wednesday afternoon
On Wednesday at 2:06 p.m. the National Weather Service issued an updated tornado warning in effect until 2:15 p.m. for Livingston, Monroe and Ontario counties. "At 2:05 p.m., a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado was located near Honeoye, or 13 miles northeast of Dansville, moving northeast at 45 mph," states the weather service. "Flying debris will be dangerous to those caught without shelter. Mobile homes will be damaged or destroyed. Damage to roofs, windows, and vehicles will occur. Tree damage is likely."
