Friday's Weather: Cloudy with scattered rains possible
EAST TEXAS (KLTV/KTRE) - We only have a couple more days of cloudy skies and scattered rains before some hot and humid weather returns to East Texas. This morning we’re off to another humid start in the lower to middle 70s with scattered rain and patchy fog. Scattered showers and isolated storms will likely have a decent coverage over the area today which means highs for most will remain in the lower to middle 80s! Showers and isolated thunderstorms will be possible over the weekend, but with a little less widespread coverage across the area. Still, rain will be possible so it’d be a good idea to have an indoor back-up plan for any outdoor activities you may have set for Saturday and Sunday. Skies dry out even more by early next week which will allow highs to quickly climb back into the lower 90s for Monday and Tuesday, with many back in the middle 90s by next Wednesday with a heat index over 100°. High pressure will likely remain the major driving force for our weather for next week and potentially in the week after as well, so be prepared for plenty of sunshine and hot weather for the end of July and start of August.
