Penn State Football Defensive End Abdul Carter Named Big Ten Preseason Honoree

Penn State football defensive end Abdul Carter has been named a Big Ten preseason honoree, the conference announced Tuesday. Carter was one of 10 players, and the only Nittany Lion, mentioned by the conference.

Carter is entering his junior season with Penn State and was regarded as one of the nation’s top linebacker prospects after each of his first two seasons. Carter made the switch to defensive end after the 2023 season, replacing Chop Robinson and Adisa Isaac when both were drafted into the NFL.

Thus far into his Penn State career, Carter has registered 105 total tackles, 11 sacks, 10 passes defended, three forced fumbles, and an interception. Earlier in the offseason, Carter was named a Walter Camp second-team preseason All-American as a linebacker, despite his position change.
